What is Market Gauge and how does it work?
Market Gauge is a flexible tool that displays widely accepted market indicators along with proprietary indicators to give you a graphic panorama of information. In addition, the indicators are carefully "weighted" through the use of unique gauges, to provide the user with an immediate view of the market's current condition and trend. In a glance you get a balanced "snapshot" of the driving factors that can help to assess the "why" of recent market activity and guide you to "what's next" with confidence.

Clicking on an indicator's name on the gauge snapshot returns:
* A simple theoretical explanation of the indicator
* A formula and explanation of how the indicator is calculated
* A suggested strategic interpretation

How do I read the "Gauges" and "Value Column"
  • The Gauges
Color-coded gauges are used to interpret the data. The white center bar is neutral. Green on the right of the neutral bar is bullish and red on the left is bearish. The number of red or green bars indicates the strength of the signal. The maximum number of bars is five. The Gauges appear in one of three columns which indicate the time frame of the indicators' significance.

  • The "Value" column
The value column displays the current calculated value of each indicator. This allows the user to closely monitor changes in the indicators and anticipate changes in the gauges. Market Gauge assists the user in anticipating changes in the advance/decline and up/down volume gauges by color-coding the value column when the indicator has potential to change. A green value indicates that the corresponding gauge will register green bars as soon as the direction (slope) of the indicator reverses. Conversely, a red value indicates that the gauge will soon turn bearish.
