Strategy

The Moving Average Convergence Divergence Indicator (MACD) has been applied to the Value Line Index to illustrate the strength of the broad market's long-term trend. When this indicator is positive the market's momentum is up. A negative value indicates the broad momentum is down. This indicator, along with the Value Line 5% Swing Model, can serve as a useful gauge for keeping short-term price swings in perspective relative to the strength of the longer-term trend.
